Our 2016-2017 Campaign was a HUGE success! We a goal of $125,000, and we raised more than $138,000, proving to everyone in this region that Elizabethton/Carter County is a "Community United!"
We want to thank our Campaign Chair, Corey Paulson, Marketing and Communications Director for Mountain States Health Alliance, for his exceptional work and unwavering support. We are grateful for our Board of Directors and the immense support that they provide. We for grateful to everyone who ran a workplace campaign, and to all of our business and corporate contributors. And finally, we are so thankful to every person who contributed in any way, whether by volunteering, spreading the word, or donating. We could not have done this without all of you!
United Way of Elizabethton/Carter County use these funds to make a huge impact in the community this year:
- We plan to strengthen and expand our FamilyWize Prescription Savings Program, which has saved Carter County residents more than $431,000 on prescription medications.
- We will invest in our Community Resource Center in the South Hills community, bringing services and programs directly to residents in this community.
- We will promote access to nutritious and healthy foods, through our own community garden, support of the Downtown Elizabethton Farmers Market, and support of GROW Carter County, a Healthier TN Initiative.
- Finally, we will work with seven Impact partner in Carter County and provide two Impact Grants, fully funding the allocations we promised them in their fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in this community.
These partners include The Boys and Girls Club, Assistance and Resources Ministries, Elizabethton Senior Center, 211 Contact Ministries, Adult Day Services, The American Red Cross, and the Elizabethton Neighborhood Service Center, Personal Support Services, and the Boy Scouts Sequoyah Council. Thousands of children and families will gain access to financial and emotional support through these partners in Carter County.
Again, none of this would have been possible without the help of people like YOU!
